Post concert

I hardly ever attend concerts. But when I do, I ride on the high for about 72 hours. give or take a minute or so...

Which is why as of now, I'm gobbling every piece of classical and rock music I can get my grimy paws on.

How can you not get this way when you've just listened to an arrangement of Fade to Black rendered with 15 cellos while the lead and solo was performed by cellist Renato Lucas of the Philippine Philharmonic?

Damn.

Needless to say I'll probably by binging on nothing but music like this for the next 3 days. As I write, I'm listening to Robert Plant's (Led Zeppelin) solo album Fate of Nations. (At the back of my head, I'm wondering where I put my Alice in Chains album.)

Double damn.
Times like these I truly wonder where we'd be without music.

Friday

Today was a different day.

I made a breakfast of green pancakes.

It doesn't sound quite appetizing until I tell you that the pancakes were of that color because of the pandan added to it and that it was topped with apples baked and smothered in cinnamon. The combination of which, married with honey, is nothing short of both sinful and divine.

Immediately after breakfast, a delivery truck pulled up at our front door.

It doesn't sound quite as interesing until I tell you that the delivery man wanted to give us 100 sets of the DPC Yellow Pages- with four volumes to one set. The reason for which was that my dad, being the homeowner's association president, was the designated recepient of the directories for our little village.

In the process of receiving said telephone directories in the garage, a phone call came through.

It doesn't sound quite as important until I tell you that I was invited for a telephone interview over the radio. This friend of mine, who hosted a radio talk show on the AM band, needed someone to go on air and talk about their study habits as a student. Basically, she asked me to spill my guts and tell the whole world (or at least those tuned in to the show) that, "Yes, I am a nerd. I am a freak of nature for I actually like studying."

After the interview, I went to Sbarro's.

It doesn't sound quite as eventful until I tell you that I ordered
two (2) slices of Chicago deep dish pizza,
one (1) slice of white pizza,
one (1) half serving of chicken romano on spaghetti,
one (1) full serving of spinach lasagna,
two (2) extra meatballs

....oh

and one (1) serving of Cesar salad.

If you think I had this all to myself, then shame on you..

After Sbarro's, my mom bought a VCD copy of a Sharon Cuneta flick.

It doesn't sound quite as relevant until I tell you that if you saw this movie, then you would have seen me. If only for a few fleeting moments next to Ate Shawie.

Once we were done seeing the VCD at home, it was the end of the day.

It probably doesn't sound as interesting to you until you realize that you
DON'T have green pancakes for breakfast;
you DON'T have 400 phone directories in your garage;
you're NOT a super nerd (and proud of it);
you've NOT had a ton of Italian food for lunch and enjoyed it with family;
and your face is NOT next to a pop icon.

Oh well...

...there's always tomorrow to look forward to.

A Day of Booboos

Started like any other morning.

Then I got off the bed.

First off, I missed waking up early. I wanted to get up at 6 am but apparently, my evil sleepy twin switched the alarm off when I wasn't looking.

Did my devotions for the day. And while I did learn yet something new about Him and me. I discovered how I've been slacking off with my duties - all the while pretending I wasn't. Who am I kidding, right?

Then I get a call from a good friend. And I discovered I dubbed over a tape of hers that's of some importance. Made me feel like a complete idiot.

It's someone's birthday today and I need to greet him. Although, I have this sinking feeling he doesn't want to have anything to do with me. Oh well, I'll find out later for sure.

Just so you know... (Dabble #4)

never too young

Currently.

Current junk food of choice:
Baked peanuts mixed with raisins
(sheez, even my junk food's getting healthy.)

Current in-the-back-of-my-mind occupant:
Getting around to writing down the concept to a story.
(Guess I'm waiting for that critical mass when you can't contain it inside anymore and it just naturally comes out of you. Of course, there is the possibility of NEVER reaching critical mass and you lose all passion for the idea. Ah, the dangers of complacency...)

Current people peeve:
Judging people you don't know.
(How can you possibly form a definitive opinion of someone you have not taken enough effort to base those same opinions on? It's unfair, and irrational. And to those guilty of this, I pity you. BIG TIME.)

Current mood-in-spite-of-the-foul-weather:
Foul.
(When you are, you are. Aren’t you?)

Miscellaneous "currents":
cold toes and fingers - makes typign suhc a diffikult tasks.
mongo bread – an old discovery. It’s nice to be reaquainted with old friends.
green tea - loose leaves brewed in a ceramic pot. Now where's that kimono?
photography - also an old acquaintance. getting to know it all over again.
