Current Movie and Book Fare
RECENTLY SAW:Kingdom of Heaven
- another Ridley Scott movie. Ergo lots of graphic violence and none of the gore spared in the 12th century tale of one lost soul in serach of redemption.
Orlando Bloom looked lost in most of the scenes.
As if he was thinking to himself,
"This would be way cooler if I, like, had a bow and arrow instead of this heavy sword... And if my hair was long and blonde instead of this nappy flea-infested do...."
Revenge of the Sith
No review on this one.
Simply - I'm glad everything's been put to bed.
Now, can we just pick up and move on, people?
I know I have....
WILL WATCH:
La Visa Loca
All because it's done by Unitel Pictures for whom I interned for with Crying Ladies. I have a huge respect for the standard in production. In my book, they're the ones to beat.
But then again, i may just be biased.
Bikini Open
Horror of horrors, yes, I will.
Just in support of the cinematographer, whom I know well.
Support Filipino films, folks.
At least the ones I deem worth mentioning.
And yes, I'm shameless that way....
HAS FINISHED READING:
Left Behind by Tim LeHaye and Jerry Jenkins
A fiction novel based on LeHaye's interpretation of the end times, particularly the Rapture of the Saints..
I don't agree with some of the assumptions there, such as the children being raptured along with the saints. Unless they're true believers, even the young ones will be left behind.
Overall, though, the book was a page turner. Plus the fact it's the first in a series makes me want to look for the rest and see what the authors have to say about the end of this world as we know it.
Bottomline: I'm just happy I'm prepared for it.
